Training Opportunity Hosted by the NLPOA Long Beach Chapter

999 Officer Down – Long Beach Chapter

As some of you might already know, the Long Beach Chapter of the National Latino Peace Officer Association (NLPOA) has been working extra hard in setting up a training opportunity for our officers, detectives, supervisors, police personnel, and our beloved dispatchers.

On behalf of the NLPOA-Long Beach Chapter I am proud to announce that the “999 Officer Down!” Training Class is now scheduled for Friday November 11, 2011. The training will be held at 855 Elm Ave in the city of Long Beach.

“999 Officer Down” will consist of a two part training event. The first will be an explanation of the Law Enforcement Bill of Rights Act by several L.A County Attorneys. It will then be followed by a breakdown of the horrific Long Beach Shooting that happened in December of 2006. This shooting will be dissected and explained and the attendees will hear about the officers thoughts, actions, feelings they had during this horrific incident. Those attending will also hear what saved the Officers lives and how the suspect was ultimately apprehended. Most importantly, this training will be genuine since you will not hear this from a study or a trainer giving his opinion, you will hear this from the involved Long Beach Officers and Detectives themselves.

We believe this training is a must for: Patrol, Field Training Officers, Detectives, Supervisors, Parole/Probation Officers and Dispatchers. This training will also benefit other first responders such as Fire, Paramedics, and even ER Personnel.

This training opportunity is one that you will not want to miss. If for some reason you are not able to make this event, DO NOT deprive your friends /Law Enforcement contacts and please forward this email to them.
